Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar, a dark-comedy thriller hits multiple targets in one throw. It has a layered plot with good intentions. Stunning performances and some really aesthetic visuals. This work by Dibakar Banerjee is off-beat and different just like his most and a must-watch!

This is such a fantastic film! Writer-Director Dibakar Banerjee with co-writer Varun Grover has penned a brilliant story with more than just one takeaway. This film is not only a thriller with a tinge of dark-comedy but at the same time is a film that gives out social and life messages. It is wonderful to see how such a simple plot thrills and keeps the audience hooked throughout.

The film is shot extremely well in Pithohragarh near the Indo-Nepal border. Cinematographer Anil Mehta is the best in town and no one can pull off things like how he does. The socio-cultural milieu and the aesthetics of this small town that the protagonists take hostage in are captured beautifully. The sound and background score has been very creatively put to use by Dibakar Banerjee. The title scene was my favorite.

On the performance front, this film is bang on! Every single one is under the skin of the character and delivers brilliantly. By far the best work of Arjun Kapoor. He is unbelievably good. Parineeti Chopra is superb as well. Special mention to the side cast especially Raghubir Yadav and Neena Gupta. It is a treat to watch them together. Others in the ensemble including Jaideep Ahlawat and Rahul Kumar are solid at their parts.

To sum up, Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar is a must-watch. It is thrilling, entertaining, loaded with wholesome performances, and a treat for everyone who enjoys off-beat and art cinema!
