Rick and Morty

Platform - Netflix Release Date - 5th September 2021 Review By - Pranav Kasat Tag - Latest Reviews Category - Web Series Reviews

Being an animated series some would anticipate it to be childish, but Rick and Morty lies in the completely opposite zone.

Are sitcoms, drama, and thriller web-series becoming too repetitive for you in this quarantine period? If you are hunting for something unusual and offbeat, then Rick and Morty is one such recommendation.

The story revolves around Rick, an alcoholic foul-mouthed scientist who lives with his daughter, underconfident son-in-law, and his grandkids. The series primarily focuses on the adventures of ‘brilliant’ Rick with his ‘dumb’ grandson Morty involving a lot of crazy stuff like aliens, time travel, infinite parallel universes, and much more weird stuff like this. Moreover, it involves a lot of elements of dark humor- bullying, depression, blood, and sometimes even death, unlike some normal sci-fi adventure series. But being an animated series, the dark stuff won’t affect you in a negative way and would never fail to entertain you.

The writing of the show deserves special praise for bringing up such creative stuff (related to science) subtly and incorporating dark humor while maintaining a great and fresh storyline in each episode.

Reiterating that despite being animated, this show is not meant for kids owing to the language and dark humor!

The show is streaming on Netflix and is awaiting the remaining 5 episodes of the fourth season
